Board Service

Hi there! Here is more about my board service experience in the maritime industry.

I'm the Chair of the Board of Directors at SAMS Norway, a Norwegian business cluster focused on sustainable autonomous transport solutions on land, air, and sea. In this role, I lead the board of directors to ensure sound strategy, management, and culture for over 40 member companies, including industry leaders such as Kongsberg, Masseterly, Asko, and Yara. I work closely with the CEO and the team to create global export markets and opportunities for sustainable autonomous mobility systems. Additionally, I oversee the sound finance and management of the cluster, including the application and follow-up for Norwegian and EU research projects and funding opportunities for joint projects. I'm particularly proud of my role in hiring and onboarding the first permanent CEO for the cluster.

I also serve as a board member of WISTA Norway, where I'm in charge of web and IT, supporting 40by30 and Maritime Meetup. Moreover, I'm a founding board member of Captains Without Borders, where we provide scholarships to disadvantaged cadets from diverse backgrounds internationally. Our mission is to collaborate with shipowners, maritime charities, and maritime clusters to help these cadets obtain their first sailing position and the education needed to become senior officers. It's gratifying to know that we're making a meaningful impact in their education that will, in turn, contribute to the need for seafarers worldwide.

With over a decade of experience in maritime shipping, I've developed operations management expertise in offshore LNG plants and international merchant ships. I've led multi-national technical teams in industrial environments, contributing to three SIGTTO Human Element Series books. My experience extends to product development, project management, change management, human factors design, design thinking, industrial operations, industrial safety, industrial problem-solving, industrial emergencies, autonomous operations, automation, and control system development.

I'm humbled to have been recognized for my contributions to the maritime industry, including being named one of the 100 Top Women in shipping globally for 2022. Currently, I'm part of the Nautical Institute's Automation Technical Advisory Group, and I've launched a personal initiative - HUMAN-CENTERED OCEAN INDUSTRY: DESIGNING A TRANSFORMATION, A 100-DAY PROJECT - to design a transformation for the ocean industry that is smooth, sustainable, safe, and inclusive for all.

My experience, passion, and dedication make me a valuable asset to any board I serve on in the future.
