Mentoring
Mentoring is a journey that benefits both the mentor and the mentee, and I can attest to this firsthand. As a mentor for the Techstars Energy program, I had the privilege of guiding and supporting startups with a maritime focus, such as Deepstream Tech and Voyager. It was inspiring to see these bright minds develop their ideas and grow their businesses, and I am proud to have played a part in their success.
But my mentoring experience is broader than only startups. I also believe in the Importance of DEI and being committed to ESGs through empowering women in the industry, and I have been a mentor for Women Offshore since 2016. It has been a pleasure to help emerging women navigate their maritime and offshore oil and gas careers and witness their growth and achievements.
As a mentor and mentee in the WISTA Norway Maritime Meetup program, I have connected with experienced leaders in the industry. The knowledge and insights gained from these interactions have been invaluable to me. I am excited to continue my involvement in this program, which is entering its third year, and is now structured around specific topics and leadership development.
Of course, I have also been fortunate enough to have been mentored by some incredible CEOs and board members inside and outside the maritime industry. These experiences have not only provided me with guidance and support but have also helped me develop a leadership style that emphasizes mentorship, teamwork, and collaboration.
As I look to future corporate and board roles, my mentoring experience will allow me to lead by example, support the growth of emerging leaders, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
